Now that her fiancé is out of the picture, Wolf’s not going to let anybody in Madeline’s her life other than him.

Featured Author of the Month–C. R. Moss

C.R. Moss, resident of the hot, high desert in the southwest, knew she wanted to write at a young age, as early as she learned to read, cooking up stories to entertain herself in the rural, non-kid-laden area she had lived in. But she took a round about way to settle down as a fiction writer, having worked in the corporate and real estate realms writing newspaper articles, press releases, corporate newsletters, etc. Now that she’s settled into the health care industry, she has returned to her first love: fiction writing. When she isn’t working at her practice or at her computer cooking up another tale, she can be found hanging out with her husband and cat or reading a book.

Fun Facts About C.R. Moss

Fun Facts about Laura

What is your greatest achievement to this date? My greatest achievement is Divinitas, a powerful tale spanning time and space, using myths and legends of the old days to map a quest for the divine. I know it doesn’t say much, but it’s very hard to define a book that by its nature escapes conventional categories. It explores important topics that are very dear to me and readers can easily frind in all my works, from re-incarnation to destiny, to love and betrayal. If I had to give a definition, it would be of an erotic book with an intellectual content that addresses central themes in our beliefs about life, after-life and our connection to spirituality. So it’s not just a recap of ancient myths and legends, most forgotten by now, because I talk about real-life people struggling through the same battles we all face everyday. Us-Yri has to learn to master his uncontrollable passion for his friend Set in order to understand his spiritual side. Mitra, too, tries to fight against his lust for Vayu only to find that total acceptance of his love is the only thing that will make him free of earthly ties. But Divinitas goes even further. Its greatest message is perhaps that everyone has a divine connection within as long as they don’t lose touch with their spiritual side. And analyzing the succession of religious myths, it becomes crystal-clear that spirituality is a force man’s been reckoning with ever since he walked the Earth. True, times, spaces and even names change, but the tale they tell is always the same, a love so great that even if betrayed, it will find the strength to save himself and mankind.
If I wasn’t a writer I’d be: A musician.

Fave writing style:Gay, ménage, fantasy, historical

Worst writing habit:I get too involved in my stories to the point of neglecting everything else.

What puts you in a great mood?Music, making love, my incredible mate, cats.Music - certainly one of my favourite pleasures in the world. Can’t do much without it!Making love - do I need to explain that?My incredible mate - He stood by me for the last 25 years, believing in me much more than I ever believed in myself, my true inspiration for most of my male characters. And though for a long time he had to put up with my half-hearted love, waiting patiently for me to understand how great out connection was and had been despite me, in the end he earned it all!Cats – they’re the greatest animals on Earth! I love their sensuality, their elegance, their beauty and their independence. Like many Buddhist say, I want to be reborn as a cat because that’s the highest form of re-incarnation possible.

What motivates you to finish a draft?I would never start a draft I wasn’t sure I’d finish because I start writing after I hear the story in my head. It starts as an idea at first, but then the characters define themselves, the plot takes a definite shape and I follow it through its conclusion, first in my head, then on paper.

If I give you a roll of duct tape what would you do with it?If I could, I’d wrap up the television so I wouldn’t have to listen to bad or worse news day after day. Life is terrible enough as it is without someone making it its job to broadcast it 24-7 to the world.

Are you hip?

February 1st, 2009

It’s always fun to read authors and readers posts. From controversial topics to their missing cats, the group members provide entertainment, knowledge, ideas, support and awesome excerpts :D.

I will not list the names of the groups here since I belong to lots of them.

As a routine, every day, I check my mail to see if I received a reply from my post or to read other’s mail. Most of the time, I respond to the questions posted or just be a cheerleader on the side. Sometimes I just skip a message without leaving my comment because of the acronyms and abbreviations the author wrote on his/her post. And Tierney here is too shy to ask what the authors mean by OT or some xo and what not. Aren’t I silly or what?

So, to familiarize myself with the common abbreviations I did a bit of a research and found this list:

LOL: laughing out loud

ROFL: rolling on floor laughing

ROTF: rolling on the floor (variation of ROFL)

IMO: in my opinion

IMHO: in my humble opinion

BTW: by the way

TTFN: ta ta for now

TTYL: talk to you later

FAQ: frequently asked questions

If you have more to share, please do so. I am not hip on the internet/email slang yet.

***My new Featured Author is the sassy, sizzling, and romantic author Kissa Starling! Check out my featured page to read a bit about her. Let me know what you think. :D

***If you are interested in becoming my featured author, email me. It’s a neat way to get exposure. ;)

Featured Author–Keta Diablo

Keta Diablo

Fun Facts about Keta

Biggest writing peeve: Insecurities over my writing. At times I think a second grader writes better than me. You’d be surprised how many times I hit the delete button and start over. Other times, it clicks. I haven’t been able to figure out why one day my creative muse is spot on and other days she’s on hiatus.

Fave writing style: I lean toward plain writing more than a lot of lengthy, descriptive prose. I think my attention span is short. If an author spends two pages describing the interior of a room, he/she lost me at paragraph two. I do like the way Sherry Thomas writes. She’s to the point and the reader is never confused about who’s saying what and when.If I wasn’t a writer I’d be:I’d love to be singer. No, I probably can’t carry a note, but anyone can be taught to sing, can’t they? I wish I’d taken voice lessons when I was younger. I think it would be the ultimate trip to walk on stage and have everyone rising to their feet with thunderous applause. And they all came to see little ol’ me. WOW!

If you find a naked man (Hugh Jackman look-a-like) in your room, what would you do?Ask him what side of the bed he prefers. If you had a superpower what would it be?I’d want to be a firestarter. Why, you ask? I think it would be so kewl if women had a natural defense. Who would need to take martial arts defense or learn how to shoot a gun? How nice it would be enter an elevator at night and not have to worry about who’s joining you on the way down. You wouldn’t have to be looking over your shoulder on the way to your car in that dark parking lot, and in the middle of the night when the house creaks and groans, and you’re sure it’s not a “normal” house noise, you’d have the peace of mind of knowing that if any harm is about to befall you, you can just incinerate the jerk. Maybe I should be writing horror instead of erotica. Two things I would take with me to a deserted island:Can I have three? Reams of paper, a case of pens and a truckload of books. 3 things you cannot live without?Pizza, iced tea, coffee (with cream)

What is your greatest achievement to this date?My children, of course. I can think of no greater reward in life. Not just because you gave them life, but because it’s a testament that even after you’re gone, a part of you remains in them and in their children. It proves you were really here once and that you mattered.

When did you decide to write a book? The first time I read To Kill A Mockingbird at age ten. Once I met Atticus, Scout and Gem, not to mention Boo Radley, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Before that, I didn’t realize you could be transported to another time and place merely by reading sentences. I fell in love with Harper Lee’s depiction of the characters, her ability to make me smell the sultry, hot air of the South and taste the prejudice. Who woulda thunk???

What is the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?His sense of humor. Without that, I’m gone.

Were you a geek, rebel or studious as a teenager? In junior high, I was quiet. I achieved passable grades and clicked with the in-crowd. I can’t take the credit for that. My brother, a year older than me, was Snow King, Homecoming King and a star athlete. Everyone knew him, and knew me only because of him. I know; it’s hard to walk in someone else’s shadow all your life.

What do you have handy at your bedside?A CD player with an assortment of music, a box of “unread” books, two candles, a lamp, my remote for the t.v.

In one word, what would you say your personality is.Tenaciously-inquisitive. See how I hyphenated that to make it one word? What puts you in a great mood?Solitude, candlelight, bath salts, books. Advise to aspiring authors:Remove the word “can’t” from your personal dictionary. Don’t listen to naysayers (they abound in this world) and if anyone tells you you can’t achieve your dream or goal no matter what it is . . . ditch them. This would include family.

Thank you so much for having me here today. I loved your questions. And I love to hear from readers, so please stop by my web site: http://www.ketadiablo.comand enter my contest to win free books. And don’t forget to stop by my blog, http://www.ketaskeep.blogspot.com
